“ Please don’t let the negative reviews on yelp detour you from trying this place. Since moving to Denver two years ago, I have desperately missed indian food, as it’s my favorite food and Denver had no decent places. This restaurant was highly recommended to me by a friend recently, so I went with some friends for dinner. Honest opinion- this is definitely the best indian food in Denver! We ordered veggie tikka masala (orange), veggie korma (the yellow), aloo gobhi (red) garlic and regular naan, and two apps. We all loved everything! Great ambiance for those that look for that. Also gluten free and dairy free friendly. Will definitely be my official indian spot from here on out!! So happy this place opened! ”
“ THEY DID IT AGAIN !!! We went 3 times this week. Best Indian restaurant in town. Excellent food, service and experience. They also have a great lunch special. ”
“ Excellent Indian restaurant. We have done both dine in and carry out and have eaten here over 8-10 times total and have also dined here when they first opened. Mehak is our current favorite in the Denver area, specifically for North Indian food. Please note that if you have a toddler, they do NOT have high chairs, so plan accordingly. Despite this, there were multiple families with children eating at the restaurant. It is a very clean restaurant with courteous staff. Restrooms are pretty clean. It somehow feels like a more classy experience than the majority of its competitors. Cocktails are great- especially the Oak and Acid for bourbon lovers. They have a small beer selection but better than most Indian restaurants. Most appetizers are wonderful but some don’t carry well for take out (paneer pakora can get soggy). The gravy based dishes carry well, as one would expect. Although the main course serving sizes are smaller than most Indian (and American restaurants) they are appropriate (don’t expect leftovers if everyone is hungry). Saag paneer is excellent. Spice and salt levels are mostly consistent, but we have witnessed some variation. Dessert is tasty, nothing particularly special, but the presentation makes up for it. We will continue to eat here regularly and hope for some menu expansion in the near future. Also please get some high chairs! ”
“ This place was recommended by a local Nepali friend, and I am sooo thankful they did before I left Denver. The service is beyond amazing. The staff is very kind and attentive. The owner was sweet enough to sit with me and have a good conversation about... food! Yes, lol. Very insightful and works to keep tradition involved in the food. I originally stay in the Midwest, and I have not had such good Lamb Vindaloo in a long time. It was very well made, and the taste is now memorable. Thank you! Will be back! ”
“ This is a 6 star restaurant. The food here is just amazing. In my opinion it’s the best Indian food in Denver. The flavors and spices they use are excellent and the food taste is consistent every time we go back. Then the owner Niran is top notch. One time our order was not perfect and he replaced our entire order which is not common these days. He even through in a special appetizer. I just feel it is rare you get customer service like that these days. Then we have never eaten at the restaurant, but when my wife went in t pick up food, she was very complimentary of the ambiance, so we may be dining in soon. If you want the best Indian in Denver, go here - great food, but even better service. ”
“ Very friendly owner and staff. The food is excellent. The samosas were great, but the momos (a dumpling served with a savory curry paste) were even better. We tried the Peshawar naan in addition to garlic naan. Both were very good, light, fluffy, and not too chewy or thick. It was difficult to pick a favorite between the lamb vindaloo and the chicken curry. Both were rich, fragrant curries with perfect flavor, served with proper basmati rice. They offer 5 levels of heat for each curry, ranging from mild, medium, medium-hot, hot, and India-hot. Medium had enough heat to tell it was there, but I think medium-hot or even hot would be manageable (I like spicy but not face-melting heat). Indian-hot might be an adventure, but I'll save it for a night when I don't have anything going on. The mango chutney was excellent as well, a solid choice for cooling the heat and it serves as a good counter to the rich curry. All of the servings were good-sized and very high quality, and every dish was flavorful. They also have a full bar with lots of premium liquor, several wine choices, and a small but solid beer list (the Avery Rascal went well with the food). The #4 cocktail is excellent, but the standout was the off-menu mango lassi rum cocktail the bartender invented, a pina colada-like creamy mango concoction. We njoyed our dinner, taking with the friendly staff, and the pleasant dining room (low lights, not-too-obtrusive Indian music, and nicely designed interior). We've since been back a couple more times and had almost all of the curries. Butter chicken is our guilty favorite, but all of them are great. ”
“ Elevated Indian and nepali spot perfect for a date night. Made the mistake of parking on the street not realizing there was convient parking. Fun unique drinks and the momo is closest to nepal I've had without actually being there. Flavors are spot on! ”
“ We were on our way to the Airport after a long vacation in Colorado and we were craving for some quality Indian food. The reservation was very smooth and we got the table in no time! We ordered Saag Paneer, Garlic Naan, Mango Lassi and Cheese naan. Main course comes with a bowl of rice. We really loved their food! Naans and Lassi were freshly prepared. Rice was also sauted in ghee! I tried Saag Paneer in many restaurants in New York and I have noticed that at other places they make a puree after blanching spinach leaves (with methi/fenugreek leaves). We really like this version. At Mahek, the chef kept spinach leaves and cut it into small pieces and prepared creamy version of this dish and garnished it with julienned ginger! I loved the taste and flavor as they kept the original aroma and taste of the spinach!! If you like Saag Paneer or not please try this dish at Mahek, you will fall in love! I highly recommend them! We will certainly visit them when we are back to Denver again. ”
